When in Langkawi, the one thing that you’re definitely going to be spoiled for choice is beaches! Langkawi has more than its fair share of amazing beaches, thanks to the bounties of Mother Nature! However, if you’re looking for a beach that rates among the top five best beaches in Langkawi, then Pantai Kok it is!

Offering glorious white sands, warm sunshine, aquamarine waters and a curving coastline offset by limestone hills, Pantai Kok is famed to be one of the best tourist attractions in Malaysia! Let’s take a look at what this beach is all about and why it’s considered to be one of the main things to do in Langkawi!

One of the best facets of Pantai Kok is its beautiful setting offering an amazing panorama, beautiful mountain scenery and a gorgeous coastline shaped like a horseshoe. Also, the location is slightly remote, which increases to its appeal, especially for those looking for a quiet day on the beach! Unlike Pantai Cenang, Pantai Kok has no eateries on the beach and no other facilities such as washrooms or changing rooms, which again, emphasizes how secluded this beautiful beach can get!

While it’s one of the main places to visit in Langkawi, Pantai Kok does not offer a lot of beach activity owing to its quiet and secluded nature. In fact, this beach is ideal for swimming, building sand castles, lounging on a towel as the warm sunrays give you a golden tan and picnicking!

Pantai Kok is also ideal for long, romantic walks and small nature hikes on narrow lanes which lead to the forested areas beyond the beach! You can opt to sit under a tree with your partner, listen to the sounds of the ocean around you and watch the catamarans drift by lazily on azure waters. Also popular are the limestone caves which are considered to be one of the interesting places in Malaysia, so if you’re looking for a bit of fun and adventure, head to Pantai Kok!

If you’re looking to stay near Pantai Kok where you can indulge in enjoying this beach every day, then the closest resorts you can stay at include the Tanjung Sanctuary and the Sheraton Hotel.

Entrance to Pantai Kok is free of charge, since this is a public beach. If you’re heading in from Kuah, all you need to do is follow Jalan Pantai Kok. You’ll see the beach from the road, but you’ll have to either drive or walk through a forest park for about 100 yards before you get to the beach itself. Considering that Pantai Kok leads into a beautiful bay, there are some tiny trails across the park that end at the white sands of Pantai Kok. While there are no eateries at the beach, why not head to the nearby Perdana Quay for your choice of meal?

Pantai Kok offers no public facilities for wash room, which can be a bit difficult if you’re planning to spend all day on the beach! Also, if you’re looking to swim, lounge or snorkel, you’ll have to come with your own equipment since there are no rental facilities here.

Pantai Kok is one of the best places to visit in Malaysia, because of its serene environment, natural beauty and amazing mountain scenery. When you’re here, please prevent littering which will damage the natural ecosystems of the beach flora and fauna, noise pollution which may disturb the other guests to the beach and damage to any trees or corals. Let’s have fun but leave only footprints in the sands!
